Lets talk about weight!

Hey!

People in my life are probably bored of me talking about my weight loss by now, but I don't care and will tell you all about it anyway! So, over the past year I have managed to do something which I have always thought was impossible for myself and that was lose 2 stone. My weight has never been something I have been so open with, and if I'm honest it wasn't actually something that ever bothered me until recently. It actually started in October 2016 when my brother took a photo of me when I wasn't expecting it (I'm still not ready to post that picture though) and honestly couldn't believe that's what I looked like, I just looked awful. Throughout my life I had been on and off dieting for as long as I can remember but I was never very committed so I would just end up quitting and repeating it so many times until the end of 2016 when I fully decided something in my life had to change.

I pretty much cut out everything bad I was consuming at the start of my diet as I knew this was what needed the biggest change. I was living off of just salad for lunch and dinner and black coffee for the first couple of months, I know that sounds super boring but it actually wasn't, this was probably the best thing I done because after losing a stone I knew I couldn't turn back. Another big thing that helped was that I got another job which involved a lot more walking and that led me towards losing 2 stone. I'm not as strict as I was when I first started at the beginning of the year but I am careful and conscious of what I eat and I try to exercise more (exercise has always been my worst enemy and I just need somebody to help myself become less scared of publicly exercising).

The biggest problem I have is losing the motivation to carry on then just gaining all the weight back so I've come up with two ways of helping me stay motivated and stay on track to lose another 2 stone by the end of 2018, these are keeping a track of what I weigh...I have a note in my phone with the date I weighed myself and what I weighed that day. Another thing that helps me stay motivated is seeing old photos of myself and comparing them to current day, to show that I am actually visibly changing.

The left picture is of me in October 2016 and the right is in November 2017.

The left picture is from July 2017 and the right from November 2017.

The left picture is from August 2016 and right from November 2017.

This photo was taken December 2017 and was taken purely out of shock, I bought these jeans in March 2017 and every other time I had worn them they had just about fit but when putting them on the other day they wouldn't even stay up and it sounds stupid but I had never been so happy (obviously I'm sad because I'm losing out on a good pair of jeans) but I'm actually losing weight even if I cant see it all the time!

I hope you enjoyed this post and will come back for my next one!

Outfit Details // Green & Blue Sequins

Hey!

So recently it was my mums 50th and she had such a fab party, which inspired me to write this post because I was just so in love with my outfit and make up. It's not often I truly truly love my outfit so I just had to share!

As my dress was pretty much just green/blue sequin, I knew I had to match my eye shadow to it. I used the Sugar Pill Pro Pan Pressed Eye Shadow in Kim Chi mixed with Makeup Geeks Dragonfly for the base of my eye and I used Makeup Geeks Foiled Eye Shadow Pan in Pegasus on top for a shimmer effect. I had also dyed my hair a purple/red which gave me a real Ariel/mermaid vibe.

Along with my make up, I had to match my nails with my dress. I don't have very nice natural nails, as much as I try to grow them, so I bought some white stick on nails from Primark and painted them myself. To get the colour I ended up with I used two Barry M nail varnish's. for the base I used two coats of Black Pistachio and then topped in with Ethereal Forest which gave just such a lovely colour.

My dress was from Missguided. It was by far the greatest thing I had ever bought. It was so flattering and just made me feel really confident in the way I looked. I paired the dress with some new look black lie up low heels.

I hope you enjoyed this post and will come back for the next one!

thank you for everything, Dr Lahiri!

Hey!

If you've been reading this for a while you may have happened upon this post where I basically lost my mind when Fox stupidly cancelled The Mindy Project after only 3 seasons. That was truly such a terrible day for me but thanks to Hulu, who saved the show and gave it an extra 3 seasons, I have just watched the most perfect ending to the show.

I remember seeing the promo for the show for the first time, I had never heard of Mindy Kaling before but coming across a show where the lead is a rom com obsessed girl who I could relate to in ways was everything to 16 year old me because I hadn't felt this connected to a TV character since Betty Suarez, and this was 3 years after Ugly Betty had ended.

Over these 6 years there have been so many pivotal moments within this show, whether they be happy or just pure emotional. Since the pilot I have just loved the relationship between Danny and Mindy, watching them grow was so so amazing, I'm not even ashamed to say that I cried when they had their first kiss on the plane. It is such a beautiful scene that parallels a scene from season 1 which I really love but this time it pushes Danny to realise his true feelings. The downfall of their relationship after they have Leo was so hard for me to watch because as much as I love Danny I truly was hating him through those episodes. I'm so glad the finale addressed those issues and Danny and Mindy finally admitted they are both so clearly still in love with each other.

The final episode was honestly so beautiful, Morgan getting a happy ending by marrying Tamra (isn't it crazy Morgan wasn't in the pilot???) It also had a few fab parallels which include Mindy leaving the wedding on a bike and dodging the pool, it was such a great addition that took me straight back to the pilot and shows how much Mindy has grown since then, also Mindy running through the streets of New York to get to Danny just reminded me of Danny running to her in the season 2 finale.

I'm so thankful to Mindy Kaling for creating such a comedic masterpiece, for creating Dr Mindy Lahiri, who made life way more enjoyable even when I was feeling my worst, for Kaling and Lahiri being such amazing people to look up to. Without The Mindy Project, I would've never have watched The Office but I'm so glad I did! Reading Mindy's books I've seen just how much she put into getting her own show and I'm SO proud of how far shes come and will be watching EVERYTHING she is in in the future, because if it has Mindy in then it is bound to be amazing!

I've still not quite come to terms with the fact there will no longer be anymore episodes of the show but I'm so excited to re watch the show from the start and feel all of the feels all over again and getting people to watch as well (that's aimed at you mum!)

I hope you enjoyed this post and will come back for my next one! I really hope you start watching The Mindy Project because its just such an amazing emotional roller coaster everyone needs to ride! If you've watched it I'd love to know your thoughts on the finale, I hope you loved it as much as I did!

Recent TV Watches!

Hey!

I feel like I haven't done a TV post in forever, so I thought it was time again seeing as I've started watching a few different shows so obviously need to tell somebody about it!

Castle
Image result for castle tv
A homicide detective and mystery writer work together to solve murders in New York City. I am like fully obsessed with Castle recently, when I started it I didn't realise how much I would truly love it but I just haven't watched anything else since. It's a crime drama with a comedic twist and that is what makes it so great, so many aspects to it which all work together so well. Castle and Beckett are such a great pair and I'm just so engrossed in their relationship. You can watch this on NOWTV.

The Good Doctor
Image result for the good doctor
A young doctor with autism gets recruited into a surgical unit in a prestigious hospital. So far I have only watched the first episode but I really love it. Medical shows are my favourite and the Shaun's backstory is so heartbreaking that I was crying for pretty much the entire episode. I'm so excited to carry on watching and see everything that is to happen. You can watch this on NOWTV.

Dynasty
Image result for dynasty
It follows two wealthy families as they feud over their fortune and children. Just like The Good Doctor, I have only watched the first episode of this (yes, I know...I'm slacking) but I am loving it! I had been looking forward to it for so long as I have loved Elizabeth Gillies since she was in Victorious and knew that this would be a great show especially since it was made by the same people who made Gossip Girl. I have such high hopes and I'm looking forward to seeing the rest. You can watch this on Netflix.

The Good Place
Image result for the good place
The Good Place is a town where people who have been good throughout their life go once they die, when Eleanor ends up there by accident she realises she has to change her ways and become 'good'. This show had such a weird concept but after a few episodes I was hooked, Kristen Bell is so great and the story line is so different to anything on TV right now that its so hard not to love it. There is a plot twist at the end of season 1 which is so great and something to look forward to! You can watch this on Netflix.

Law & Order: True Crime
Image result for law and order true crime
It follows the story of the Menendez murders, where two brothers brutally murdered their parents in Beverly Hills in the 80's. I had never heard of this case until this show came out but I'm so glad I started watching it because it is honestly so gripping and such an interesting watch. You can watch this on NOWTV.

Atypical
Image result for atypical
It follows an 18 year old with autism who decides to become more independent. I didn't realise how much I was going to love this show, it seemed like it would just be something I had on it the background but I just couldn't get enough. It was so heart warming and hilarious at the same time. I so hope there will be a season 2 because I was so in love and emotional by everything that had happened by the end of season. You can watch this on Netflix.

I hope you enjoyed this post and that you'll come back for my next one! I hope that you start watching at least one of these shows because they are honestly so great!

Rimmel Shades of Black Vox Box!

Hey!

I have recently been lucky enough to receive a complimentary box of products from Rimmel's collab with Rita Ora to test and review. I have some looks that I have created with the products on my Instagram if you wanted to have a look but I'll give a more in depth review below.

Shades of Black 60 Second Nail Polish

There are three shades which are Matte Black, Darkest Desires and Midnight Ting. These are such great nail varnishes and are amazing colours. I've been obsessed with Matte black ever since I first tried it. They are all such wearable colours are dry so quickly which is fab.

Shades of Black Oh My Gloss! Lip Gloss

There are three shades which are Rita's Black, Desire and Moonlight. I've never been a gloss person as I'm very in love with matte formulas, so I was a bit sceptical when trying these but I actually really like them. They aren't super sticky, which is what I associate lip gloss with, and they are so pigmented that it actually feels like you're wearing a lip colour not just a something shiny on your lips.

I was also sent the Wonder'fully Real Mascara which I'm loving, its a smaller wand than I normally use but its so good, and so great for your bottom lashes as well as the top ones.

I created this Halloween look using the Rita's Black Lip Gloss, Matte Black Nail Varnish and the Mascara. It was so fun to play around with liquid latex to make this look as well as using my normal make up products. I created this video to show a faster version of how I done it

MISSGUIDED HAUL!

Hey!

I hope everyone is well! Today's post is going to be a Missguided haul (if the title didn't give it away). Missguided were recently having a site wide 50% off sale, so I just had to take advantage of that and buy some stuff. (you'll have to excuse my awkward poses...I'm obviously no professional!)

The first thing I bought was this black lace graphic t-shirt
I also bought this yellow brooklyn graphic t-shirt.
Being as obsessed with social media as I am, I just had to buy this unfollow slogan mesh t-shirt

It's finally coming up to winter and its becoming more acceptable to wear jumpers so I bought this pink cropped sweatshirt

Obviously another jumper had to be bought and I'm super obsessed with this grey varsity hoodie.I got insane Mean Girls vibes from this grey not your problem bodysuit so I just had to have it!
I hope you enjoyed this very very short post on my recent purchases. I hope you come back for my next post!

Seamore I Sea Pasta : Review

Hey!

I was recently sent a sample of Seamore's I Sea Pasta from Media PR to try and then review and I've been so excited to post this as it was such an intriguing thing for me to try. I love food and getting to try something new to me was a change I needed in my eating habits.

The back of the packaging says:

"Seamore's founder mistook seaweed for pasta, loved the experience and decided to fool the rest of the world. I sea pasta looks like tagliatelle but is 100% wild, handpicked seaweed from Connemara, Ireland and Brittany, France. This pack holds the equivalent of 500 grams fresh sea vegetables ready to be used as pasta, veggies or anything in between. Great for your taste buds, health and the planet. Eat yourself happy."

It also says at the bottom that it is "non gmo, seastainable, vegan, gluten free, organic and low carb/cal" but above it it also states that it may contain crustaceans so that could contradict it being vegan...but obviously that is for you to decide for yourself.

I found that there was a strong sea smell when I opened the packaging and when I was cooking it, which if I'm honest was putting me off a little bit but when eating it I really couldn't taste it. I was actually quite shocked when I started eating it as I just wasn't expecting seaweed to have a consistency so similar to pasta (yes, I'm aware that's the whole idea behind the i sea pasta...but I was sceptical.)

It was really nice and made my meal really enjoyable. It was such a change to try something so different and I definitely want to try it again in different recipes and to get people around me to try it! If you're intrigued then I definitely recommend you buying some!

I hope you enjoyed this post and have liked my review on Seamore's I Sea Pasta. I also hope you come back for my next post!

little life update

Hey!

It's been a while since I posted a rambling, not sure where this is going to end up, sort of post but here we go!

I haven't posted much in a while and that is mainly because my life has surprisingly been a bit hectic lately. After like over a year of searching I have finally got a new job, while getting to keep my old one seeing as they are both within Sainsbury's...which is so fab because I love both of the departments I'm on and I don't have to be 'the new girl' since I have been there almost 3 years! I also don't have to worry about money anymore which is so great because I feel like my content will improve now I can actually buy more but job wise....I'm the happiest I have been in a long time!

I am struggling quite a bit to find the motivation to get back on to my diet after like 4 months off of it, but luckily I haven't gained any of the weight that I lost at the beginning of the year. There are certain things I have changed about my diet but I'm still not where I want to be...I just need to wake up one morning and have the motivation I had in January (only another 2 and a bit stone to lose....hopefully I'll get my act together soon!)

Yesterday I was being half productive, half lazy on my first day off in a week...I made sure everything I needed to do were done before 12 and then sat finishing off this post while binge watching iZombie on Netflix (If you have never watched it, please do!) I have a couple of ideas for upcoming posts so hopefully you shall see them soon!

I'm finally catching up with shows on Netflix after falling behind on so many and right now I have seriously fallen back in love with Orphan Black (and I'm pretty sure it ended the other day...so sad!) Also, lets appreciate the fact that I'm two weeks away from payday and I'm not broke...when did I grow up???

I hope you somewhat enjoyed this rambles post and will come back for my next one.

TV made me listen!

Hey!

If you didn't know, I love TV and I love music. I especially love music that has a story to it so most of my favourite songs come from TV shows and either have a story to tell within the lyrics or have some significance to the story line. So in today's post I shall be sharing a few of my favourites songs that I found through TV shows. There is also a recurring theme of death within these scenes, which gives you an idea about my taste in music...

Bruce Springsteen - Dancing In The Dark
The scene from The Mindy Project that I heard this in can be seen here. Although the song isn't in the clip which sucks because I couldn't find the actual scene but it is where Mindy and Danny race to the top of the empire state building to meet each other which is such an amazing scene and finale.

James Vincent McMorrow - Look Out
The scene from Teen Wolf that I heard this in can be seen here. Probably the saddest scene from any tv show I have watched, Allison was such a great character and her death was so shocking and heartbreaking and this song will forever remind me of it.

Aidan Knight - Dream Team
The scene from Haven that I heard this in can be seen here. Haven was such a great show, and this song was played during such a pivotal scene when Duke has to accept Jennifer is dead and 'let her go' to save Nathan, and after everything they had gone through he still chooses to save him.

Anna Nalick - Breathe (2am)

The scene from Grey's Anatomy that I heard this in can be seen here. The musical episode is definitely one of my favourites and this song choice was so great for this scene and Mark and Lexie's story.

The Civil Wars - The One That Got Away

The scene from Ravenswood that I heard this in can be seen here. This scene was such a memorable thing for me because it was just something I wasn't expecting. The song makes the scene so much creepier and that is amazing!

The Fray - How To Save A Life
The scene from Scrubs that I heard this in can be seen here. This is like my favourite song ever and although it has been in many things, this scene is the one that sticks with me the most. For a comedy show it's such a heartbreaking scene which made it so memorable.

Sara Ramirez - The Story

The scene from Grey's Anatomy that I heard this in can be seen here. Another amazing scene from the musical episode, as this whole episode was centred around Callie this song had so much emotion to it and was such a great end to the episode.

Sam Phillips - Reflecting Light
The scene from Gilmore Girls that I heard this in can be seen here. I became obsessed with Gilmore Girls last year and instantly and obviously fell in love with Luke and Lorelai so this song playing during their wedding in the revival was everything I had dreamed of!

I hope that you enjoyed this post and will come back for my next one! I also hope you listened to some of these songs and watched some of the shows!
