thank you for everything, Dr Lahiri!

Hey!

If you've been reading this for a while you may have happened upon this post where I basically lost my mind when Fox stupidly cancelled The Mindy Project after only 3 seasons. That was truly such a terrible day for me but thanks to Hulu, who saved the show and gave it an extra 3 seasons, I have just watched the most perfect ending to the show.

I remember seeing the promo for the show for the first time, I had never heard of Mindy Kaling before but coming across a show where the lead is a rom com obsessed girl who I could relate to in ways was everything to 16 year old me because I hadn't felt this connected to a TV character since Betty Suarez, and this was 3 years after Ugly Betty had ended.

Over these 6 years there have been so many pivotal moments within this show, whether they be happy or just pure emotional. Since the pilot I have just loved the relationship between Danny and Mindy, watching them grow was so so amazing, I'm not even ashamed to say that I cried when they had their first kiss on the plane. It is such a beautiful scene that parallels a scene from season 1 which I really love but this time it pushes Danny to realise his true feelings. The downfall of their relationship after they have Leo was so hard for me to watch because as much as I love Danny I truly was hating him through those episodes. I'm so glad the finale addressed those issues and Danny and Mindy finally admitted they are both so clearly still in love with each other.

The final episode was honestly so beautiful, Morgan getting a happy ending by marrying Tamra (isn't it crazy Morgan wasn't in the pilot???) It also had a few fab parallels which include Mindy leaving the wedding on a bike and dodging the pool, it was such a great addition that took me straight back to the pilot and shows how much Mindy has grown since then, also Mindy running through the streets of New York to get to Danny just reminded me of Danny running to her in the season 2 finale.

I'm so thankful to Mindy Kaling for creating such a comedic masterpiece, for creating Dr Mindy Lahiri, who made life way more enjoyable even when I was feeling my worst, for Kaling and Lahiri being such amazing people to look up to. Without The Mindy Project, I would've never have watched The Office but I'm so glad I did! Reading Mindy's books I've seen just how much she put into getting her own show and I'm SO proud of how far shes come and will be watching EVERYTHING she is in in the future, because if it has Mindy in then it is bound to be amazing!

I've still not quite come to terms with the fact there will no longer be anymore episodes of the show but I'm so excited to re watch the show from the start and feel all of the feels all over again and getting people to watch as well (that's aimed at you mum!)

I hope you enjoyed this post and will come back for my next one! I really hope you start watching The Mindy Project because its just such an amazing emotional roller coaster everyone needs to ride! If you've watched it I'd love to know your thoughts on the finale, I hope you loved it as much as I did!
