Kathleen Lights x Morphe Palette

If you were to ever ask me who my favourite YouTuber is, it would hands down be Kathleen Lights! Ever since I found her review on the Artis brush, I have loved her channel, she is hilarious and so relatable...it sounds weird but I think we'd be great friends. You should definitely check out and subscribe to her channel!

So when I heard she was collaborating with Morphe to make this eye shadow palette, I just knew I had to have it! It was limited edition and the first release sold out insanely fast, so when I heard that they were having a second release; I just couldn't say no.

Living in the UK you can buy Morphe palettes on Beauty Bay or Cult Beauty but as this palette wasn't on either of those website's I had to order from the main site. As they ship from  the US, the shipping was quite a hefty amount...about double the price of the palette, all together it came to around £30 and I didn't have to pay a customs fee which is always great but it definitely was worth the money! It arrived in just over a week, which is great considering it came from the US.

The palette is so beautiful and the colours are all so pigmented. I haven't used all of the colours yet but I have used a mix of the matte and glitter shades and they both blend and sit so well on the eye, I didn't actually use a primer on my lids only a concealer which I set with a powder. I can't wait to try out more combinations as there is such a different range of colours which can be used together.

I hope that after reading this you would check out Kathleen's YouTube channel as it highly entertaining and she has some great make up tutorials. As well as her YouTube, you should definitely buy this palette as all the colours are so beautiful and they apply so nicely.

See you in my next post!

City of stars, Are you shining just for me?

Hey!

If you haven't heard about La La Land yet, where have you been?! It is probably the most anticipated movie of this year (and yes I know this year has only been a few weeks long!). The best way to describe it is as a romantic comedy musical, it stars Emma Stone (as Mia) and Ryan Gosling (as Sebastian) and follows the ups and downs of their beautiful love story.

I went to go see it on Monday night and it was just incredible! I had a brief knowledge of what it was about and obviously I had heard the hype about it from critics and award shows. But sitting in the cinema and being thrown into the story was extraordinary, it brought out a wave of emotions from me; I laughed, smiled and cried!

The story line had me hooked on every word, the love story between Mia and Sebastian was such a pure thing to watch. The 'five years later' part did break my heart a little bit, but the montage that is shown with Seb playing the piano made it whole again; it was such a beautiful way to end this story.
After seeing it I naturally became obsessed! I was just yearning to go and see it again..but I settled for the next best thing; buying the soundtrack on iTunes. It is such a great collection of music and when listened with both earphones in, it gives a feeling of being thrown into that universe and brings back all the emotions I felt when watching this film.

My favourite song off of the soundtrack is definitely 'City of Stars' it is such a beautiful and calm song that tells a story within its lyrics and just matches the story line of the film so well. The soundtrack as a whole is such an uplifting thing to listen to. Whether you have seen the film or are planning on seeing it I would definitely recommend buying the soundtrack as you will fall in love with it and will brighten your mood when it is listened to!

See you in my next post!

jobs, make up and diets

Hey!

So today hasn't actually been that great for me...I don't know why, I just woke up feeling really down which is the only way I can explain it.

I then had a very unexpected telephone interview from a company that had already emailed me saying I wasn't experienced enough for the job...but hey I still went ahead with it. I've also spent the majority of my day applying for jobs as I need something full time because I'm constantly finding myself having no money!

My phone upgrade is due tomorrow which I am super excited for because my phone has been really rubbish recently...if you've ever owned an iPhone you know after a while it just doesn't work as well and the battery drains all the time (never going to stop me buying them though!) So I'm hopefully going to get an iPhone 7...exciting times!!

It is over half way through the month and I still haven't cheated on my diet...which is super insane for me! So far I've lost 4lbs (which really isn't a lot...but I guess its something). I'm changing a lot with myself and hope that I can stay committed to this diet and become successful and not like every other failed diet I've been on within my life!

I decided I'm going to start collecting all the little free samples I get from magazines until I get a good range of products and do little reviews on each of them on a post..hopefully it shouldn't take me too long!

So that's all for now...see you on my next post!

forever catching up

Hey!

I've spent the past week binge watching Home and Away...quite and odd thing to binge watch I know! But I had accumulated about 3 months worth (and with it being a daily show...that's a lot!) and that was taking up all of my recording space on my TV. After watching pretty much all the episodes I had, I feel like I've fallen in love with this show again...it has such amazing story lines and actors it just gives me all the feels all the time!

It started snowing last night and I was super excited because weirdly enough I love snow! I had planned to go out and take some cute Instagram photos but by the time I was dressed and ready, the sun had come out and melted all the snow which was very disappointing so I ended up just curling my hair which I'm really loving considering I've just been leaving my hair natural recently.

I'm now catching up with Grey's Anatomy...my life recently is just 'catching up', this episode is kind of weird and I hate to say it but I feel like this show has gone down hill quite a bit especially since Derek's death (but I'm still going to keep watching it). But I tell you what every time I see Meredith wearing Derek's scrub cap all I wanna do is cry! There was also so many flashbacks of Meredith and the children from the night Derek died in this episode which was super sad and then at the end there was full on a scene of Meredith seeing (an early season) Derek and it honestly broke my heart so bad!

I got another order from Sample Beauty in the post today so I shall hopefully have another post about those soon!

I'll post another update soon!

Bye!

Saturday Night

back again!

As per usual nothing too exciting has happened within my life, I've almost finished with re watching The Office; Jim and Pam are basically my all time relationship goals. Not only is this show hilarious, watching Jim and Pam's relationship grow is just beyond beautiful...I've never known any show to get something so right!

Yesterday was probably one of the hardest days of my diet so far, as my brother decided to buy Domino's and that was my go to junk food...like pizza is everything! It honestly pained me to watch him eating it, as stupid as that sounds but I could smell it and I was sat there eating salad...like if there hadn't been chicken on it I 100% would have broke and eaten it!

It's the weekend now which means I'll be working, which is always....fun! I'm in my 20's, sat in bed watching The Office and writing this on a Saturday night...very productive if I say so myself. My phone decided to start breaking literally two weeks before my upgrade is due; but I think I've managed to sort of fix it..well at least until I can get a new one!

I'll speak again soon!

Sample Beauty

So recently I came across a website called Sample Beauty and I instantly fell in love with it. They basically sell samples of some really popular make up and beauty products as well of some of their own products and full size of other popular products. As a company they are extremely good and have amazing customer service, their website is really easy to use and they have a great selection of products available. I purchased a few samples and have tried them out for a little review and already plan on purchasing some different ones.

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray

I had tried this before and I'm obsessed with it, I  had recently run out of my full size bottle. When I saw it on the website I just thought I had to buy it just to keep my make up in place. I definitely would recommend this, its my all time favourite setting spray.

Maybelline Fit Me! Matte & Poreless

I bought both the shades 115 and 120, but 120 was way too dark for me so I just stuck to the shade 115. I'm not going to lie I was a little dissapointed as I was super excited to use it because I heard it gives great full coverage but it just didn't do it for me, even when I applied a second layer. I tried the foundation on a different day and applied it with a beauty blender instead of the oval brush that I normally use to see if that changed my opinion but I still wasn't happy with it as there still wasn't much coverage and to me gave less coverage that Benefit's 'Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow' which is a lighter coverage foundation. But once I applied the rest of my make up it did look a lot better, it made my skin look super smooth and not powdery even after using powder products.

Stilla One Step Correct Primer

I was so excited to try this out as I have quite a bit of redness on my face and have been looking for a green concealer but thought I'd try this and I do quite like it! It reduced my redness and felt smooth on the skin but when applying my foundation with an oval brush it did not stick on and around my nose, it just kept moving and honestly looked a mess, I was also wearing Benefit's porefessional under my foundation. I tried this again on a different day, once I applied it to my face I left it to dry while I done my eye make up. I then applied my foundation with a beauty blender it did stay on my face better than the first time, best not to pair with porefessional. I do like it but it isn't my favourite primer ever.

Elf Poreless Primer

This primer isn't the best I've used but it also isn't the worst. It is good for keeping make up in place, but for a 'poreless' primer it didn't really minimise my pores which was kind of dissapointing as that is what I was hoping it would do. The smell also wasn't my favourite as it was kind of minty but I'm not that big of a mint fan. I would use this again and maybe pair it with another pore minimising primer.

NYX Angel Veil Primer

When I first opened this I was little dissapointed because it wasn't what I was expecting as it had a different consistency to what I thought it would be, so I politely messaged the company on twitter (I hate to be the person who complains...I work with the public so I know how one rude customer can ruin your day!) but they were really lovely and explained that it should work if I blend it in really well and they even refunded me the money for this product which they really didn't have to do. But after using it once I was really happy with it, it sort of has a white colouring to it which reduced my redness a lot more than the Stilla one. My foundation sat on it really well and gives it a flawless look. I shall definitley be re purchasing this!

Pilaten Blackhead Removal Mask

I was so excited to use this and it was amazing! It smelled so great, it was very wet and thin and applies to the skin very well and needs to set on the face for 30 minutes. It feels really light on the face. It did hurt quite a bit when I was taking it off but I probably did have it a bit too close to my eyes. My pores did look like they had minimised and I would 100% re purchase as it made my pores reduce and skin felt super soft.

RCMA No Colour Powder

I've heard so much about this powder and that its the greatest loose powder. I do really like it, it sets my make up really well and doesn't leave a white film on my skin like other loose powder I have used. The only problem with it is my own; I cannot use a loose powders without getting it all over my clothes...how do people do it??

life and television update

It's 5 days into January and I am actually getting on pretty well with my healthy eating/dieting. I have a long way to go but hopefully I can do it! As I haven't had much work this week my days have been spent with waking up late, doing about half an hour worth of exercise before drinking endless amounts of coffee and watching The Office.

There are two shows that I've been obsessed with recently; one that I've loved since the first episode and the other that has grown on me so much. Those are Timeless and Pure Genius. Both amazing shows with very interesting story lines and it kills me having to watch the episodes weekly because I just love to binge shows! I highly recommend both of these shows, if you haven't seen either of them then please please watch!

Related image

Timeless is about three people who travel through time together to save history. With each episode they go back to a different time and deal with a different part of history and so far everything I have seen is so interesting and there is an element of mystery within the show which keeps me hooked on it. If I'm honest I only started watching it as Matt Lanter (who played Liam Court in 90210) was in it and I'm so glad I started watching it because I am obsessed!

Image result for pure genius

Pure Genius is about a tech billionaire who starts a hospital with a new approach to medicine. I started watching this because Brenda Song (who played London Tipton in Suite Life of Zack and Cody) is in it and she kept talking about it on her social media's, I also love medical shows so I was super excited to watch it. But when I actually started it I was rather confused as I  felt like there was no true story line but then the first episode had me hooked when it is revealed that the main character James had a degenerative disease, it is such an interesting story line and I would love to see more of it. The whole show is great and to see their new way of medicine and surgery is great and what makes this so different from all the other medical based shows.

I have also almost tried all of the samples I ordered from Sample Beauty, I just have a couple more products to try again, and then I shall have a little review up which I'm going to start writing after this and hopefully will be up some time tomorrow.

Hope you enjoy!

2017

Well I hope your 2017 is going to plan...mine hasn't gone off the rails just quite yet!!

For Christmas my parents got me The Office US box set which I have started re watching and it's just the greatest thing ever, nowhere near as good as Friends but its definitely getting close! I'm finding myself laughing as hard or even harder than the first time and some of the episodes have deleted scenes in them which is basically like watching it for the first time and makes it insanely enjoyable.

The new season of Celebrity Big Brother started tonight and honestly I'm a little underwhelmed or even a little disappointed with the choice of celebrities. If I'm honest I haven't really watched it in a few years as I feel like it went downhill; I always watch the first episode to see everyone going in just to get a feel of what it would be like but never end up watching the whole series. I'm quite sad with the fact that Jedward wasn't in this series as they were bringing back old stars and they were rumoured to be going back in...it was literally the only reason I watched tonight was hoping that they would be back in it.

I don't really have much planned for this week...I'm trying to become healthier and lose weight (I have been saying this since I was like 13 and never has that happened...so lets hope one day soon!). I'm just going to be watching The Office and enjoying every second of it! I'm going to try and post some daily posts if I think of anything interesting enough. I have also recently ordered some make up samples from a company called Sample Beauty and shall be posting a review on the company/products once I've used them all a few times and got fair opinions.

Well I shall post again soon.
Bye!

Monday 2 January 2017

bye bye twenty sixteen

well...another year is over which means another set of TV characters have met their untimely demise. 2016 is also the year that I have fallen very behind on a lot of shows, so I've missed out some deaths that I know of purely because I haven't got to that part yet.

so lets get to that countdown of the worst character deaths of 2016. (there are most likely spoilers in here so beware...)

12 - Justin Voight - Chicago PD
Image result for justin voight chicago pd

This was such a sad death, Justin wasn't a regular but had been in the show (and Chicago Fire) many times and his character had grown so much; from the teenager drink driving to the happy settled down dad. Even though he wasn't one of my all time favourite characters; to watch from the moment his dad found him to the moment he was pronounced dead was heartbreaking, his character seemed to have changed his life for the better but still managed to get mixed up in something that ended up killing him.

11 - Toby Cavanaugh - Pretty Little Liars
Image result for toby cavanaugh season 7

ok, so technically we don't know if he is actually dead (and he most probably isn't considering Keegan seemed to be filming a lot after the mid season finale aired...but lets pretend I don't stalk the casts snapchats) but ending the episode on such a cliffhanger just makes my heart break. Toby is such an amazing character and has grown so much in the show and for him to die this close to the end and without telling Spencer how much he loves her (spoby forever) is just awful...I pray to god he is still alive because I don't want to see Rosewood without Toby!

10 - Eli Hudson - Scream
Image result for eli hudson scream

oh Eli, I don't think I've ever felt so guilty about a death before! I spent the entire season convinced he was the killer (even though I had thought it was Kieran in the first season....but he couldn't have possibly killed his dad... how wrong was I!) The finale was such a thrill ride, I was legit screaming when Eli and Kieran both showed up, but turns out Eli was just trying to save Emma from his psycho cousin Kieran who ended up shooting him which happened so fast and was utterly insane!

9 - Jake Fitzgerald - Scream
Image result for jake fitzgerald scream death

I didn't truly start to love Jake until the end of season 1 and then he got killed off early in season 2 which was super sad. The way he died was awful, basically strung upside down and then the front of him being sliced open...I had to hide from the screen! The worst part of his death was when it was revealed he was actually dead and his body, blood and guts came down onto the stage and over where Brooke was standing, it truly broke my heart!

8 - Kieran Wilcox - Scream
Image result for kieran wilcox

Although he was a psycho killer I am incredibly sad about this death, I have loved Kieran from the moment he came on my screen and think he was amazing throughout the show. Even when he had to switch from the Kieran we knew to the killer Kieran, it was amazing! When I found out he was going to be in the Halloween special, I was so excited thinking he was going to be teaming up with the new ghost face but no, the new guy sliced his throat open and he died....like way to ruin my day!

7 - Zoe Vaughn - Scream
Image result for zoe vaughn scream

This broke my heart! Literally never been so broken! Noah and Zoe were so cute and this whole episode just had me so anxious. I honestly thought Noah was going to die, and then I fully believed they were both okay until they opened the box Zoe was in and she was dead...I cried so bad, it was incredibly sad to watch. She was so nice and could've made a great new character...I wish she hadn't died.

6 - Lincoln - The 100
Image result for lincoln the 100

So weird enough I haven't actually fully seen this death as I stopped watching after Lexa's died...I sort of explain below but after finding out Lincoln had died I just can't bring myself to watch it. I was going to watch it again but I just haven't found the time so you'll just have to have a brief opinion on this. I really wasn't expecting it especially two episodes after they killed off Lexa, Lincoln was such a great character with a really good backstory and was involved in great story lines. His relationship with Octavia was one of the best things about the show and to have that all thrown away with this death is just awful. Hopefully one day I'll be able to carry on watching this show but for now I just can't get back into it.

5 - Hannah Wilson - Home and Away
Image result for hannah wilson home and away

If you thought Home and Away was just a light hearted drama in a beach town you were very wrong! When someone dies it is always so freaking heartbreaking that it takes me forever to get over. Hannah's death was so shocking and sudden, there had previously been a massive explosion at the caravan park where her nephew dies (I'll talk more about him next), and because she was a nurse she went back to work thinking she was fine. She then collapses in the hallway and then watching Nate try to resuscitate her was heartbreaking as he wouldn't give up even though she was already dead. Evie finding out her aunt had died just after her twin brother had too made it even sadder, like I was sobbing so much!

4 - Oscar MacGuire - Home and Away
Image result for oscar macguire home and away

Oscars death truly was one of the most heartbreaking things I have seen, Since being in the show he's been pretty inseparable from his twin sister Evie and I loved the whole twin element of their story line, so to see one of them dead is quite shocking to me. Oscar died in the explosion, but you don't actually see him die, they just find his body. The saddest thing about his death is his twin sister Evie, played by Philippa Northeast, her finding out that her twin had died had me crying so much, she collapsed on the floor and was in tears...like it was incredible acting and then when she went to see his body in the hospital I was seriously sobbing.

3 - Lexa - The 100
Image result for lexa the 100

This death, oh this death was the start to my hatred of The 100. I hate to say that I hate it because I was fully obsessed when it started because it was one of the greatest things I'd seen but it started disappointing me and then just never stopped. I was so excited for season 3 because one of my favourite actress Rhiannon Fish was going to be in it (I'm pretty sure her character died too) but Lexa's death was just so unnecessary and stupid that it annoyed me but at the same time I was shipping Clexa so much that I just could not stop crying.

2 - Wes Gibbons - How To Get Away With Murder
Image result for wes gibbins

Wow, this one was a shocker! Each season has a different focus; Season 1 being "Who killed Sam/Lila?", Season 2, "who shot Annalise?" and then Season 3 was "Who's under the sheet?" and it ended up being poor baby Wes! He's been the centre of each story line so I don't know why this shocked me so much, he wasn't the greatest character in the show but he was definitely such a centre point that I didn't think he would get killed off. By the show revealing a person who was alive each week made it even more tense (also it was made to seem like Wes was alive, which killed me) because it gave me time to think of the worst...like at one point I was so convinced it was Connor! Then watching all the events of that night unfold, especially knowing who was under the sheet...just cant keep away from spoilers, was such an emotional piece of television and seeing everyone's reactions while still sobbing made it worse; Meggy and Laurel both sobbing in the hospital bed just made me cry like a baby! I found out that Wes was the one that dies before I had watched the episode and I was so concerned with the fact he died without knowing what happened to Rebecca, then when he actually finds out in the episode I was honestly so heartbroken and it just made it a million times more upsetting for me!  But the worst thing being that it wasn't even the fire that killed him...so more to be revealed about this death!

1 - Lincoln Campbell - Agents of Shield
Image result for lincoln campbell agents of shield

I only started watching Agents of Shield again (after only making it through a few episodes the first time) because Luke Mitchell was in it...even though I knew how it was going to end for him. I binged it and had all 3 seasons finished in like 3 days (yay to NOWTV and being home alone that week) and yeah obviously it killed me. As soon as I started shipping Daisy/Lincoln I knew it just wasn't going to end well for me...not only was I going to have to watch my favourite actors character die again, my ship was also going to be dead. The whole scene with them talking over a communication system, Daisy crying and Lincoln trying to tell her it was his destiny was completely heartbreaking. It then also gave me major Doctor Who Ten/Rose feels (and not in a good way) with the cut off "I love you" like I don't think I could've cried anymore than I did. Lincoln was such a great character and I really wished he hadn't been killed off but I cannot wait to see what happens in the next season.

Well 2016 has been a pretty crappy year within real and TV life, hopefully 2017 gets better and hopefully I can change my life around a bit, so much I need to find the time to do and I feel like I can finally do it...but lets hope I'm not back here next year saying the exact same thing!!

Happy New Year!
